What are superfoods?

Superfoods are foods that are found to be nutrient-dense and therefore healthy for our body.  They are generally plant-based food, and examples that come to mind are acai berries, turmeric, and chia seeds.  

There is no official “superfoods” food group, and this is typically used as a marketing term to position these nutritionally dense superstars.     

Do Superfoods Powders Actually Work?

I’m a firm believer in the healing powers of food, having healed my nearsightedness from drinking green smoothies and ate my way to a slimmer body after giving birth to twins.  

Clean superfood powders made from REAL foods that are properly processed to retain their nutritional profile can be beneficial to our body.

Your Super Power Matcha Review

I’m a fan of the taste and the many health benefits of matcha  tea, and I usually drink it plain without any added milk or sweetener.  But I have many days where I simply crave milky lattes.  

And I liked the idea of combining nutrient-packed superfoods that together count as a portion of greens in a teaspoonful.  

Making this easy 3-ingredient Power Matcha latte takes only minutes, and 1 teaspoonful provided a surprisingly rich texture and taste.

Normally I drink matcha tea without any sweetener, but this Power Matcha mix tasted rather blend without a sweetener, so I added maple syrup for natural sweetness.

Initially, I found the drink to be somewhat powdery, but I really liked the idea of being able to drink my greens.  After the first couple of cups, the issue stopped crossing my mind and I look forward to having my cup of warm, rich Power Matcha latte every day.  Now I even add an extra spoonful of the Super Greens powder into my Power Matcha latte daily.

Your Super Mellow Yellow Review

This was one mix I had to try as I’ve been writing about the health benefits of turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon.

I was also interested in trying it out as it’s supposed to help you de-stress and unwind to get a good night’s sleep.

Having had trouble sleeping for the last few months and unable to exercise to relieve my stress due to a foot injury, I was really hoping that this can work.

Amazingly, the first night I made a cup of hot chocolate along with this mix, I slept through the night and woke up to daylight!

I like to combine mellow yellow, cacao powder, and espresso for a rich cup of mocha in the morning.   

Mellow Yellow Ingredients:

If you love hot chocolate with cinnamon sticks, you’ll enjoy the taste of Magic Mushroom.  

I was also really interested in trying out this mix as it contains superfood ingredients to help relieve stress and improve sleep quality.

This mix proved to work equally well as Mellow Yellow as far as improving sleep.  I definitely preferred the chocolaty taste of this mix more.

I enjoy adding Magic Mushroom to my morning coffees for a rich mocha taste.  And also in the evenings as hot chocolate to help me sleep better

This subtly sweet berry powder with chia seeds adds both interesting flavor and texture to your food and drinks.

I simply add a teaspoonful of Forever Beautiful powder to ½ cup of water and wait 5 minutes for the chia seeds to absorb the liquid and soften to sip its refreshing goodness. 

For a caffeine-free powder mix, I found it to be so highly energizing that I drink it before 4 pm to avoid trouble sleeping!

Your Super Review – Bottom Line

Overall I’m pleased with the health benefits I’ve had since I started adding Your Super’s superfood powders.  These days, I don’t go a day without easy superfood drinks that help me feel energized during the day and amazingly also sleep better at night!

While these superfood powders require a financial investment, I find it to be very reasonable given the amount of time I save to get myself and my family eating healthy by simply adding powders to what we already drink or eat.  The quantity of powders also lasted about 1.5 months, even when we used double the recommended servings.
