1. Know Your Why

The first step in manifesting weight loss is to know your “why”.

Know why you want to lose weight. Know what motivates you: whether it’s for a personal goal, or because of an upcoming event that will make life easier if you’re at a healthy weight.

The “why” doesn’t need to be grandiose, but it should be something that you really want. And you like your reason for wanting it.  No justification is necessary.

When your goal is clear, knowing your why will help you stay focused on the goal at hand and keep you going.

2. Identify Limiting Beliefs Around Your Weight

Awareness is key to manifesting weight loss!

It’s important for you to identify your limiting beliefs around your weight. What are they? How do they make you feel about yourself, and how can this affect the way in which you approach your weight loss goal.

Take a close look at these beliefs. The most effective way to do this is to take a pencil and a piece of paper and start to list everything that you think about around your body and your weight.

Transfer all your thoughts that come up on this topic onto that piece of paper so that you can physically separate them from your mind and visualize them.

The next step is to look at what you’ve written and be an outside observer of your mind, and ask yourself if any of these beliefs are limiting ones that may be holding back your weight loss goals.

Do they cause anxiety or stress? Do they cause you to feel bad about yourself? If so, then those might be some of the limiting beliefs that you need to work on.

My limiting beliefs on how to achieve weight loss when I first start were:

  • I have to spend hours at the gym each day
  • I have to deprive myself of food with intermittent fasting or suffer through keto flu
  • I can only eat boring and bland salads or vegetables

Once I started to realize that these limiting beliefs were not facts, and started seeing pieces of evidence to the contrary,  I became more open to other possibilities.

3. Practice Compassion and Letting Go

Once many of us see what we are actually thinking about our body and weight, we might find that we have some shame and guilt about our body or weight.

Before we hurry to change our thoughts, let’s look at them with curiosity and compassion, and dig deeper into why we may have those thoughts or beliefs.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that we have to sit on a therapist’s couch and rehash our entire childhood.

When we have an understanding of why we think those thoughts today with compassion, we’ll have a better chance of letting them go.

Letting go of these limiting beliefs will help you manifest your goals. Don’t get me wrong, it won’t be an overnight process to let them go, but with practice, they’ll have less power over you.

4. Appreciate Your Body

Practicing gratitude and appreciation of your body is a great way to manifest weight loss.

Appreciation leads to love, which in turn will lead you down the path of caring for your body’s health.

You can thank your body for all it does for your soul– providing food, air, water, warmth, and shelter amongst other things.

As a mom, you may have experienced what your feminine body is capable of through the miracle of birth.

You’re lucky that this amazing machine has been working so hard day after day without complaint or hesitation, and now it deserves your gratitude.

Think about how you can show appreciation to your body for all the hard work that it does. Giving yourself a pat on the back or nourish it with a healthy clean diet are some of the ways of showing appreciation while also building love for yourself.

5. Feel Your Desired Results

When you are ready to let go of your limiting beliefs and love on your body, the final step is to come up with a plan for how you are going to replace them with more empowering ones.

One fun and effective way to do this is by writing out new, positive statements about yourself in the present tense so they feel as though it’s already happening right now.

For example, if you are trying to manifest weight loss- think about how it feels when you’re slimmer and lighter than before, knowing that this is achievable for yourself.

Use your imagination and be specific and compelling. What are you wearing? Who are you with? What are you doing? What does your body feel like? What is the energy like as you allow yourself to relax and enjoy this experience?

What are you thinking about? What are you NOT thinking about? Identifying your thoughts along these lines will help you realize the difference between the “you” now and the “you” with your desired results.

Your thinking creates your feelings, which leads to your actions and results. When you can identify the thoughts and feelings of your future self with the results you want, you are more likely to attract effective resources that lead to manifesting your weight loss.
