What Is Clean Eating?
The concept of clean eating is actually surprisingly simple: eat whole foods that are natural, unrefined and minimally processed. When you fill your body with wholesome, nutritious foods, you’ll notice a change in your health and wellness that you won’t ever miss going back.
I started clean eating when I was pregnant with my twins. I wanted a healthy pregnancy to ensure that they get the best head start possible.
My result? I stayed active throughout the pregnancy, carried my twins to full-term and delivered them at above-average weights.
This is how we strive to eat as a family now… with a few cheat days here and there to keep it real!

How to Save Time and Money for Clean Eating Shopping?
I do most of my perishable food shopping at my local supermarkets, but for my non-perishable pantry needs, I rely on Thrive Market and Amazon Subscribe & Save online marketplaces.
Not only does it save a lot of time and energy to have these food items delivered directly to my door, but these online vendors also allow me to buy these pantry staples on a recurring basis base on my need so that I can basically ”set it and forget it”, and not have to worry about running out of basic clean eating ingredients and snacks!
I’ve found Thrive Market prices to be fairly consistent lower-cost wholesale prices, whereas prices on Amazon can sometimes vary greatly month over month.
Thrive Market is very much like Costco (grocery at wholesale prices with membership) except it’s online and sells healthy, organic, and natural non-perishable groceries delivered conveniently to your door.
They make shopping quick and easy as you can filter your grocery list to shop by diets such as clean eating, gluten-free, paleo, ketogenic and etc.
If you would like to shop smart and save time, energy, and money to stock your healthy pantry, you can sign up for a 30-day risk-free Thrive Membership with this link and get up to $20 in shopping credit (1-month membership or 1-year membership at 50% discount),
You can check out my Thrive Market review + shopping list for sustainable weight loss. And when I’m not shopping there, I’m over at Amazon Subscribe & Save where I can save at least 15% off the list price.

What Foods to Avoid on a Clean Eating Diet?
In general, you’ll want to avoid all processed foods, including commercially prepared convenience foods. Stay away from boxed convenience meals (frozen or not) and fast food. For canned products, check ingredient labels and avoid ones that contain artificial ingredients.
For drinks, avoid all soda/soft drinks, and fruit juices that may have added sugar or other artificial ingredients, such as high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners.
Need help to kick your soda habit? You can make your own homemade sparkling soda in seconds to curb your cravings in a healthier way! This cool gadget can pump carbon dioxide into your tap water to create the same fizz you would find in store-bought seltzer water.
It’s compact and easy to use as there is no need to plug it into the outlet or replace batteries. Its CO2 cartridge can carbonate a whopping 60 liters of water!
Not only does making your own sparkling soda at home reduce soda can waste, but it also saves you money over time, especially if your whole family enjoys bubbly drinks like mine. I find that Amazon usually has the best deal on this soda maker.
Avoid the sugary packaged syrups that come with the starter kit, and craft your own naturally flavored sparkling bottled drinks with your favorite fruits!
You can also use sparkling water to make these detox water recipes for weight loss!
